4) He is called “The blessed God” (Romans 9:5). Authorities differ on the punctuation of this verse, some placing a colon and some a comma after the word flesh. In the first case the verse would read: “of whom as concerning the flesh the Christ came: God who is over all be blessed forever.” This makes the last part of the verse a doxology. The other reading would be as in the A.V.: “Christ, who is over all, God blessed forever.”
