43. How he had wrought his signs in Egypt. The plagues were ensigns of Jehovah’s presence and proofs of his hatred of idols; these instructive acts of power were wrought in the open view of all, as signals are set up to be observed by those far and near. And his wonders in the field of Zion. In the whole land were miracles wrought, not in cities alone. This the Israelites ought not to have forgotten, for they were the favored people for whom these memorable deeds were wrought.
