INTRODUCTION: 5 CONTEMPORARY THEOLOGY
A DISPENSATIONAL THEOLOGY
By Charles F Baker
There
are many differences between the various theologies which are extant today and
it would be difficult to find a simple means of distinguishing them. However,
it would appear that the one basic difference between all Protestant, orthodox,
conservative, evangelical, fundamental theology and all other systems is that
of attitude toward the Bible. Those who hold to the traditional-Protestant orthodox
view of the Bible, that it is an inerrant and infallible revelation from God in
its original writing, are in basic agreement in their theological systems.
Their differences are over the interpretation of certain truths, such as
the time of Christ’s second coming, but not on the fact of His second
coming. On the other hand, those who deny the verbal inspiration of the Bible,
either in part or in whole, produce theologies based upon some other source
than divine revelation.
