A DISPENSATIONAL THEOLOGY

The Dead Sea Scrolls, one of the more recent and outstanding archeological discoveries, have been dated by Carbon-14 method and by chemical analysis of ink, writing, etc., somewhere between 200 B.C. and the beginning of the Christian era. One of the manuscripts is an almost complete copy of the prophecy of Isaiah. Bruce remarks that no less an authority than Sir Frederic Kenyon had written as late as 1939: “There is, indeed, no probability that we shall ever find manuscripts of the Hebrew text going back to a period before the formation of the text which we know as the Massoritic” (about 1000 A.D.)
